Data Subsystems is an agentic automation engineering studio. We design, build, and operate agents, the orchestration around them, and the systems underneath — and we've been shipping since 2008.
Our story
Data Subsystems, Inc. — a Florida corporation, originally Shortov Consulting, Inc. — was founded in 2008 by Alex Shortov (legal name Oleksiy Shortov, as listed on the state record) — see the founder's experience and project catalog. We began as an elite senior development team filling the gap between freelancers and big IT shops: enterprise-grade custom software, delivered quickly, at real value.
What changed is the work. We've gone from custom websites to shipping multi-tenant RAG and agent platforms, an operator assistant for industrial machinery that proposes actions and waits for a person to approve them, pipelines that run unattended every day, a live ACH payments platform, and AI that reads engineering and financial documents. The constant: we ship to production, and we keep it running.
Today we're an agentic automation engineering studio. We build AI agents and the orchestration that coordinates them with systems and people, and the controls that make the result auditable — drawing on years of running regulated payments software, where every change and every transaction has to be accounted for. We turn what works into reusable solution accelerators, and we build our own products alongside our clients'.

A US company with US-based management in Clearwater, FL — and a senior engineering team that's worked together for 15+ years: automation and applied-AI engineers, full-stack engineers, architects, data and DevOps specialists, QA, and designers — with SOX controls experience (ITGCs and ITACs) on the team, so automation is designed to be audited from the first workshop.
